Idlebrain: Analysis: First half is excellent with great mass orientation. Second half has more sentimental feel. First half of the film is about how Sivaji raises to the level of Chatrapati. The second half is about Sivaji winning back his mother and brother. Since the first half is dealt with such mass orientation by treating the interval episode just like climax, the crowds expect same kind of mass tempo in second half. But family orientation in second half would dampen the spirits of mass movie lovers. This entire film has Rajamouli's signature written all over it. He narrated the story with uttermost conviction. He is the director in form and everything seems to be going right for him. This film is definitely a good film. The hit range would depend on how much the second half is going to be liked by the movie lovers.

TotalTollywood.com - First half goes at a fast pace with some decent comedy and excellent dance numbers. Second half goes with the same pace except that there are a few slag moments and little comedy. However, the film gets very gripping towwards the climax. As with Rajamouli's film, expect good deal of violence. Overall, this is a must watch.

Nonstopcinema.com - Analysis : The movie starts off slow, but the tempo picks up after 45 minutes. The episode before the interval is superb, and is the movie’s highlight. The director should have kept the mass element intact in the second half, instead of focusing on the mother sentiment. But, there are some touching episodes too. The range of the movie depends on how the audience receives the second half, and the repeat value the movie has. On the whole, muscle man Prabhas steals the show on screen, and Rajamouli shares honours behind the camera.

IndiaGlitz: The film has some gaping holes in it. But Prabhas, despite his weak delivery, lifts the spirits up with a fine portrayal. He looks fit and maturely handles a difficult role. This may perhaps his best performance till date. Naturally, with so many holes, it doesn't hold water.

Cinegoer.com - The narration is quite absorbing. The director and dialogue writer make the picture look quite convincing.

Prabhas simply rules the screen and dominates the drama from the point he emerges out of seawater fights with a sea monster. He has grown in histrionic talent and then this film gives him a new image as action star the fight scenes are special attraction.

Andhravilas - Plus Points: The performance of Prabhas and taking of SS Rajamouli, Song sequences. Minus Points: Artificial storyline, Unbearable dose of mother sentiment and careless handling of the second half.

Telugustyle - What went wrong?: When you prepare the audience for a mega mass bonanza in the first half and suddenly…opps, sorry this actually is a sentimental flick, obviously some people will be disappointed. That would prove to be the major testing point of the movie. But Prabhas being there has made this movie into an almost memorable experience for the viewer. The technical values being great, the movie should fare well. For the real verdict lets wait and watch.
