    The Telugu feature film Anukokunda Oka Roju starring with Jagapathi Babu, Charmme, Shashank and others, was produced by M/s. Just Yellow Media. Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. The general release of the film was on 30th June 2005 all over Andhra Pradesh. But the Copyrights subsists with the producers i.e. Sri Gangaraju Gunnam and Sri Venkat Dega.

    On 21st July Sri Shashank hero of the film received information from his friend residing in UDSA that his film was available for downloading on the internet from a site called onlinetelugumovies.com. Immediately producers browsed the site and found that not only their film Anukokunda Oka Roju but also Bhadra, Aparichitudu, Chandramukhi and Jagapati all popular Telugu films were available over the site for downloading if required.

    Sri Jagadish, Manager of Just Yellow Media came to AP Film Chambers and approached for guidance. As per the advice of AP Film Chamber of Commerce the Anti-Piracy Cell has drafted a complaint about the infringmentof Copyright Act of Anukokunda Oka Roju and got a case registered in Jubilee Hills Police Station vide FIR No. 241/05, on 25th July. On request, Sri C Jayaram Reddy,, Addl. Superintendent of Police, Cyber Crime, CID., assisted by Sub-Inspector Sri Ravi Kiran and Sri Rama Rao have taken pains to uncover the racket and identified the persons responsible for loading pirated VCD on the Internet.

    The Commissioner's Task Force lead by Sri KV Venkat Reddy, Addl. Deputy Commissioner of Police and Sri B Limba Reddy, Inspector, Sri Umender, Sub-Inspector and other staff of Task Force swung into action and rounded up all the three persons responsible for supplying pirated VCD and Anukokunda Oka Roju, creating website onlinetelugumovies.com and uploading the said film into the web.



    One of the persons involved in this nexus is a Juvenile in the conflict with law, studying Intermediate II year. The other accused, Peddagolla Srikanth is an Engineering Graduate. Mr. Sudhakar Reddy, own of Classic Video of Habsiguda has supplied the pirated VCD. The Commissioner's Task Force has handed over the accused to the Inspector, Jubilee Hills Police Station for taking up further investigation in this case.

    Basing on the request of the members of the website, they have uploaded the film. Then they have applied for Google Adsense Program for displaying banner ads on their website. They have planned to earn huge money by uploading more number of films, the funds were credited into their Citi Bank Accounts. These people have no rihts to upload the films foe being viewed by public in India and foreign countries through Internet. Two computer systems and one pirated VCD of Anukokunda Oka Roju were seized from their possession.

    The revenue loss suffered by Telugu film industry due to online piracy is difficult to fathom. But there is no doubt that it is a substantial amount as there are about 40 sites that provide this service to the industry. And the numbers involved can be guessed at bu the fact that on the first day that AOR was put up for download, there were 250 enthusiastic downloaders (this is the number that would visit a theater in USA for a big hero film for a single show). To this fact, add the rider that onlinetelugumovies.com is a new site (6 months old), that it was day one and word has not really spread; then you will get a fair idea of the staggering numbers involved! The film industry is bleeding for sure, but we hope not to death

    edhar marey amma tena tenadu adukonevadhu aniey. they dont realease the movie, for other countries except US and they dont even allow the movie to be online, everyone can pay if they keep it in some legal site all the new movies but the fucking producers dont care and still stop saying piracy and so and so , so what ...........? if they stop in one way always the movies are disturbuted using a newer way , groups, forums, torrents the only way to stop is they themselves releasing the movie simeltoneusly for the global audience in the best possible way that is through net.
